Hello Tom
This is an amazing start to the New Year: a response from Pipex presumably to the fax which I sent on 30 December 2006. Normally my communications are ignored.
We switched to an alternate service provider (Bluehost) several months ago because the 123 site was constantly down due to the bandwidth problem irrespective of how much extra bandwidth we purchased. Our cost with Bluehost is $2 a week and we have no bandwidth problems even though we receive each month 1.7 million hits and over a million page views. It seems that we have to spend £30 per month (over $50 USD) on extra bandwidth to have any chance of avoiding the bandwidth problem. That makes it a very expensive blog site.
We have continued with the 123 Reg site despite the dreadful support simply because it still comes up on search engine results.
Can you tell us for definite what the monthly bandwidth allowance is for the package we are on? We have never received a definite answer to this question, only a guess from one of your staff that it is 2GB per month.
What can you offer us so that we will not be plagued by bandwidth problems every month which make a joke out of our 123 Reg site? In other words can we transfer to a different package with a much larger bandwidth allowance as per Bluehost?
Regards
Alfred
